Der Schwarze Oktober im Motorsport geht weiter. Nach dem tödlichen Unfall von Dan Wheldon gibt es erneut ein Todesopfer. In der MotoGP Serie kam der ehemalige 250cc Weltmeister Marco Simoncelli ums Leben. Der Italiener kam in der zweiten Runde beim Grand Prix vom Malaysia in Sepang zu Sturz und wurde vom Amerikaner Colin Edwards und seinem Landsmann Valentino Rossi überrollt. Er verlor dabei seinen Helm und blieb regungslos auf der Strecke liegen. Das Rennen wurde sofort abgebrochen und nicht wieder gestartet. Noch im Medical Center wurde sein Tod festgestellt. Er wurde nur 24 Jahre alt.

The Black October in motor sports continues. After the fatal accident by Dan Wheldon, there is again a fatality. In the MotoGP series was the former 250cc World Champion Marco Simoncelli killed. The Italians came in the second lap of the Grand Prix in Sepang Malaysia to fall and was run over by the American rider Colin Edwards and his compatriot Valentino Rossi. He lost his helmet and remained motionless on the track. The race was immediately stopped and not restarted. Even in the Medical Center, his death was announced.
